Das war wohl das erfolgreichste Hüteturnier aller Zeiten für unsere Rasse!!!

Am 23. & 24. April fand heuer der 2. Bewerb "Traditional Style" statt. Als Richter hatten wir Hrn. Ing. Radko Loucka, aus CZ geladen.

Es wurden die Bewerbe HWT / TS-1 / TS-2 / TS-3 ausgetragen. Am Start waren Bearded Collies, Australian Shepherds, Mudi, Puli & Briards - aber in allen Klassen wurden die ersten Plätze ausschließlich an Beardies vergeben!!!

Diesmal waren zum ersten Mal auch unsere Freunde vom WBCF (Working Bearded Collie Frankreich) mit am Start!!! Und ich denke die weite Anfahrt hat sich bezahlt gemacht!!!

From 26th - 27th of Februray took the first 2-day-herding event "Traditional Style" at our Circle-C-Ranch place.

Not only Beardies, but also Briards, Australian Shepherds, Mudis and a Pumi came for the trial.

The competition on Sunday was for the competitors in class 3 also the first Qualification run for the European Championship. This year the EM for our breeds takes place in France.

It was a honor for us, that Mr. Tamás Horvath, from Hungary, followed our invitation to judge the trial.

There were a few tricky things to do, but nevertheless our Beardies did well:
JULA got 136 points (out of 150), the mark "Excellent" and the 1st place

This time it´s not about herding, but we have planed a very special event:

The 1st "Shaggy-Friends" Training & Competition
on the Greyhound-Racing-Ground at Marchegg

* Coursing-Training, as well as Agility-Training if somebody is interested in.

(Beardie can also participate - you get an entry in your working book!!!)

Sunday, 05.06.2011:
* Lower-Austria Championship for FRIENDS only
official Race for all NON-Greyhound breeds

It´s also possible to participate on one day only - please mention which day you will come!

There is the possibility for camping - please inform us in your entry if you want to camp over there.

That´s the very first event of that kind - but we hope we can awake your interest, and maybe do it more often.

we had two marvellous trainings in Hungary in Jannuary and December! Nice sheep - an absolutely great open country - and our Beardies Erin, Bella und Jula who gave their best

HWT - Herding Working Test at "Circle-C-Ranch"

20 competitors came for the FCI herding examination "HWT - Herding Working Test".
There were: 7 Bearded Collies, 4 Briards, 1 Berger des Pyrénées and 8 Australian Shepherds. Some of the dogs could really show nice works, some others were not that lucky. 15 dogs reached the examination aim.

Also our Bearded Collies reached very good results:

1st - OTHELLO 90 points / excellent
5th - ERIN 85 points / very good
7th - MERLIN 84 Punkte / very good
8th - FUCHUR 81 Punkte / very good
10th - JOUJOU 76 Punkte / good
11th - BELLA 75 Punkte / good

Also in the herding cup 2010 our Beardies earned good results:

On 11th / 12th of September was the

Herding Championship in Czech Republic in category "TRADITIONAL STYLE", class 3.

As the year before we had a very good time at Ivana´s place and she and her team organized everything perfect.

Also the herding was a big success for our 3 Beardies:

Except of our Beardies there were a lot of good dogs in the competition: Rough Collie, Sheltie and Welsh Corgie

Of course Jula could not earn the title "Champion of Czech Rep.", because I am Austrian, so the title went to the 2nd dog, a Sheltie named "Essence of Love Perla z Polabí"

Our thanks goes also to the judge, Mr. Radko LOUCKA, who has judged very well, and learned us a lot ;)

We are looking forward to meet all our Czech friends 2011 again!

Unsere Beardies waren auch diesen Sommer sehr aktiv!

Zuerst gab es auf unserer Circle-C-Ranch ein 1-wöchiges HÜTETRAININGSLAGER, mit anschließendem Trial.

Als Trainer & Richter konnten wir Hrn. Terry Workman (USA) einladen. Ich, und auch einige andere Beardie Besitzer kennen Terry bereits von schwedischen, bzw. finnischen Hütecamps - und es ist daher kein Wunder, dass unsere Teilnehmer nicht nur aus Österreich, sondern auch aus Deutschland, Belgien, Frankreich, Tschechien und sogar aus Finnland angereist kamen, um an Terry´s Seminar teilzunehmen.

Terry ist - genauso wie seine Frau Jody, die ebenfalls ein paar Tage hier bei uns verbrachte - ein ganz wunderbarer Mensch, der sich toll in die Hunde hinein versetzen kann.

Liebe Jody, lieber Terry, ich danke euch, dass ihr den weiten Weg nicht gescheut habt und ich hoffe, dass es nicht euer letzter Europatrip war :o)

...und gleich danach begann unsere REISE NACH ENGLAND...

Ich habe Kassie schon als Welpe versprochen, ihr die "Heimat" zu zeigen - und jetzt - nach 14 Jahren habe ich mein Versprechen eingelöst!

Auch unser Urlaub war natürlich total auf unsere Hunde ausgerichtet!

Zuerst besuchten wir eine HUNDEAUSSTELLUNG

zu der wir Bella gemeldet hatten - 7 Hündinnen waren mit ihr in der Klasse - Bella bekam den 1. Platz!!! Gebäude, Bewegung und Felltextur hatte es dem Richter angetan!

Jackie Goulders Farm zum SCHAFE HÜTEN!

Extra wegen uns wurde ein Hütetag für Beardies organisiert - zu dem Hunde aus ganz England & Schottland angereist kamen! Wir haben wundervoll arbeitende Hunde gesehen - mit und ohne Papiere (Beardie von Farmern aus Wales) - und interessante Gespräche über Zucht und Hüteveranlagung geführt! Liebe Liz, liebe Jackie - danke für die wundervollen Tage bei euch und die tolle Aufnahme!

Nach anfänglichen Schwierigkeiten hatte Julchen einen guten Lauf - vor allem auf die beiden Outruns zum Ende hin bin ich stolz, aber auch darauf, dass Jula kurz vorm Einpferchen bemerkt hat, dass die Schafe weggehen wollen, und selbständig reagiert hat:

It was an absolutely fantastic weekend for

4 of our "WORKING - BEARDIES"

Whilst BELLA and JULA gave prove of their sportive abilities, we can report of a great show result of PHOEBE and MERLIN

BELLA:
did her obedience & character test BH examination with the mark
"excellent" - she was the best dog out of 36 competitors!!!

At the following Agility-examination, unfortunately her handler fall and Bella was disqualificated after a great run, because she run into the wrong side of the tunnel!

JULA:
after only 3 starts in Agility Class A-2 (3 times "excellent", and under the first three competitors) Jula was allowed to start in A-3. Despite I made a big mistake (was on a wrong position by a 3-hurdle-combination, so she missed one and it was difficult to bring her back without jumping over a wrong hurdle - that cost us 6.08 penality seconds), Jula did her A-3 examination with "very good"

MERLIN:
I am very happy that Merlin is the best prove, that a good herding dog can also be handsome! He got "excellent-2" and a fantastic description at his first show. We hope it was not his last!

PHOEBE,
if she is not out with the sheep, clean and groomed well, she is able to do it: She did not only win her own class "excellent-1" but she got also the title BOB (Best of Breed) at the Club-Show in Upper-Austria

Our dear Kassie celebrated her 14th birthday!!!

Though nowadays you can see her age, she is fit enough to manage "her" flock of sheep!

...and it goes without saying, that she is still the boss in our dog-family!
